Thanks to Cyclery!

E-mail Print

CycleryThanks to the Cyclery, and especially Matt, for the excellent class tonight on bike maintenance. He covered shifting in detail, showing how to adjust the front and rear derailluers, covered common problems and how to solve them, and what to do in an emergency. He then went on to discuss chain maintenance, how to do an emergency repair on the chain (including tools you need), and how to determine when the chain is in need of replacement. He also covered brake adjustments.

The most important thing you can do for your bike, according to Matt, is to keep it clean, including the frame, chain, and gears.

About 10 club members attended and all agreed it was an excellent class and well worth the time.

Doug Bristow managed to eat a dozen donuts,  Benjy Bomkamp ate  30 donuts which resulted in a -37:20 finish time which unbelievably was 2nd to Yasir Salem (not a club meember) who ate an unbelievable 50 donuts.
